Jesus Loves The Little Children

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 18:2-4

During our final team meeting in Korea, Pastor Marcus led us in a time of prayer where each of our team members asked the Holy Spirit to show us an image of us ministering in Myanmar. I saw a vision of me hugging and embracing a little boy of about 4-5 years old. I heard Holy Spirit say, “Through your hug and embrace this boy will not have to go through the pain you had to go through as a kid. You will prevent a tragic repetition.” I myself had gone through a lot of pain growing up, and although it was hard to believe, I decided to believe in faith that God’s love would flow through me.

Once in the field, our first ministry event was at a church in Myitkyina in the northern region of Myanmar. Even before our team got out of the car, I could spot out the boy that I had seen in the vision out of a group of youngsters. During lunch time I saw him eating alone in the pastor’s room so I approached him. With my broken Burmese I asked him his name and age. He was 5 years old and his name was Auchien. After he had finished his lunch, we started playing catch together. Soon all the kids joined in and the wall that was between me and the kids broke down. During the entire time I spent with the kids, Auchien was in my arms. Whenever I tried to put him down, he would spread his arms wide and make me pick him up again. This made me think of my relationship with God the Father. He wants me to be happy, and He knows that my source of joy comes from His love.

I pray that Auchien would not have to go through the pain and struggles I had to go through as a kid. And because Holy Spirit said so I believe in faith. Through this experience God has also expanded my love for the youth. I knew I had a heart for teenagers and children, but I did not know that I loved kids that much. I’m not sure in which area God will use me later on, but I desire to share His love to anyone I encounter.

Jesus never looked down on the children. He knew that once they are marked by His love, they become unstoppable. I recall the testimonies of King David, Queen Esther, Joseph, and Mary the mother of Jesus. These are the ones that stepped out in faith at such a young age and brought God’s kingdom down to earth. I pray that Auchien would grow up to be a mighty leader in the nation of Myanmar. I pray that he will walk in faith and obedience. I thank God for giving me opportunity to meet Auchien and be a part of the story He is writing in Auchien’s life. I ask that you could also join me in praying for Auchien and the nation of Myanmar. Let us pray for God’s kingdom to be established more and more powerfully. Thank you so much for reading and God bless you!
