  1. What were your expectations for the Year of Wealth as the year began? How do you look at it now?
  2. We are several months past the Shemitah date in September. How have you been processing what has and hasn’t happened since then? What is your heart’s posture toward PC and the church leaders who shepherded the church through the end times teachings and practical preparations?
  3. Where is your heart now with regards to any potential upcoming end times events, whether in the financial and economic realm or in other realms? Are you continuing in a state of heightened alertness and sobriety, or fully letting down your guard and getting comfortable, or resistant to any teachings and warnings about any world events?
  4. Read 1 Thess 5:1-11. What question(s) from the Thessalonians do you think Paul was trying to address? What might have the context of the Thessalonian church at that time – what questions and issues were they wrestling with and seeking answers to?
  5. Read vv. 4-8. What does it mean to be children of the night as opposed to children of the day?
  6. Read vv. 8-9. What are the two motivations that Paul gives for the exhortation, “let us be sober”? One is found in v. 8, and the other in v. 9. Explain in your own words how these are motivations for us to live sober lives.
  7. Would you say you are awake and sober in this season? If not, why not? What would it look like in your life for you to stay awake? Are there any changes you need to make?
