Discussion Questions

  1. Read Ephesians 6:9-14, and 2 Cor 10:3-5 together. Paul says we do not wrestle against “flesh and blood.” What does this term mean? Do you find yourself viewing your problems often times as natural or spiritual?
  2. Christianity is more about who we are becoming than what we do. Take some time and reflect upon this statement. How have you seen this statement prove true in your life? When you became a Christian, what about your identity changed?
  3. Matthew 4:1-10 details Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. From this P. Marcus detailed that “the exact areas where God has set us to set others free are the exact areas Satan seeks to put us into slavery.” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not? If you were the enemy, would you see this as an effective strategy to neutralize Christians?
  4. P. Marcus shared three strongholds that the Itaewon Church Plant team identified back in 2010 as prevalent in the Itaewon area. What were they? Out of the three, have you been struggling with any of them in particular? (Leaders, take the lead in being vulnerable and sharing. After people share, pray for those who may have been struggling in loneliness, lust, and false identities. Break off any demonic attacks of disconnection, lust, or confusion – and declare truth over one another in Jesus’ name.)
  5. Lastly, what are your expectations for the Church-wide retreat? Share some things that you may be contending for. If you have no expectations, start believing God for something!
