Keys to a Flourishing Life

New Philly Itaewon
Preached by Marcus Corpening on April 26, 2015, Sunday.
Duration: 41 minutes (audio)

Discussion Questions

  1. Read Psalm 92:12-14 outloud as a group. Spend the first few minutes of CG discussion time meditating on this powerful passage of Scripture. Afterwards go around and share – what words was God highlighting to you?
  2. One of the definitions of “flourish” means to “grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way”. What do you think living a flourishing life looks like for you?
  3. The first key to living a flourishing life is to be committed to the house of God – to both His presence and His people. P. Marcus mentioned that we cannot be both flourishing and flaky at the same time. How would you describe your current commitment to God’s house? What commitments (Sunday service, prayer movement, CG, personal devotion) are a struggle for you?
  4. Similar to how the deeper a plants roots are, the higher it is able to grow, each new level of flourishing requires a deeper level of commitment. How can you deepen your current commitments? Are there certain commitments that you need to renew?
  5. The second key is to be connected. Take a moment and reflect – are there any areas where you have been feeling disconnected? Why do you think that has happened?
  6. In his sermon, P. Marcus shared from his own experience how his increase of vulnerability (with P. Christian) allowed for him to experience a greater level of victory and growth last year. [Leaders, open the floor and lead the way in sharing] Is there anything that anyone has been struggling with, going through, experiencing that they would like to share with the CG?
  7. The last key to a flourishing life is to continuously pursue revival and refreshment. What are some areas where you have been feeling stagnant? Take some time as a group and brainstorm ways that you can continue to pursue personal revival in the areas shared, and pray for one another.
