2014 Los Angeles/Las Vegas – Noella Muhamiriza

Supernatural is Natural

“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’ And the Lord said, ‘If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea;’ and it would obey you.’”-Luke 17:6

This being my very first ministry trip ever, I didn’t know what to expect, except that I needed to rely on other people’s high expectations. As soon as the missions schedule came out, everyone seemed more excited than I was myself. Friends at church and outside of church started volunteering to pray for me and constantly gave me words of encouragement. And in the end I couldn’t help but feel the excitement rising as I prayed and fasted for the ministry trip.

Soon after when I found out about my team role, I felt a bit uncomfortable, but in a very good way. Our team leader Diana had assigned me to be the team doctor. As soon as I heard that, the word ‘’healing’’ rushed into my mind. I knew this was a prophetic sign for the big picture of what was going to take place on the missions field, both in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Healing is one of the areas that give me this ‘’uncomfortable’’ feeling because it always challenges my faith, and also because it’s one area of ministry that I believe God has called me into. I’m always alert at the mention of the word “healing.”

The first night of our retreat in LA with Burning Tree Ministry was already filled with God’s presence among us. Not only was I amazed by the hunger among these young people, but I could also feel God’s heart beat as I joined mine to His. After Pastor Erin (the co-lead pastor of our church and one of our preachers) delivered the word that night, she led an altar call. She then asked our team members to lay hands on people and pray. We saw the Holy Spirit moving powerfully and many falling under the weight of His glory. After the first session, God started highlighting certain people to me at the most random times. These people who were highlighted were mostly people who needed healing. When doubt came in, I held on the word in John 5:19 where Jesus replied, “Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.’”

As I stepped out in faith and approached these particular people, I couldn’t help but marvel at God who had set things up before I even took my first step of faith. Healing and deliverance started breaking out everywhere, whether we were having our meals, heading to bed, or just walking around. People were being set free and it was only spreading. I remember a particular afternoon where God led me to interact with this 19 year old, which turned out to take an hour and a half. After breaking off some lies and bondages that have kept her captive for a long time, I started prophesying over her and spoke the truth of God over her. She couldn’t stop weeping for the next 50 minutes. Later that evening she came to me and said that she had never felt the truth and tangible love of God being established in heart, and that for the first time in her life she felt alive and free.

From there on, my team and I cannot even count how many lives that were set free from different secret bondages- whether from suicidal thoughts, drug addiction, sexual sins, pornography, occultic sins, etc. Someone once said, “There is no other deadly disease than that, which the symptoms are deeply rooted in the mind and soul.”

The last night of our retreat was a night of celebration as Pastor Christian preached a message on the “Fire of God” and the importance of keeping the fire burning. Just like in Leviticus 6:13, God commanded Aaron saying, “Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.” Our hearts shall never grow cold for God. That night I witnessed the fire of God falling in power all across the room. As I walked around laying hands, people were receiving, some manifesting through tears, others falling on the ground and shaking. The whole room had become God’s beautiful spotlight. I couldn’t hold back my tears. Watching and worshiping with people who have just been set free, the joy on their faces were truly the reflection of God’s own celebration in Heaven. Yet, that wasn’t the end!

On our first day of ministry in Las Vegas, Pastor Erin called the whole team up on stage and asked us to give a word of knowledge regarding any infirmities in the congregation. With faith, I asked God to highlight one or two people who had some back pain, and two people stood up. One of the two people had been in a car accident three times and since that time, her back was badly damaged. After receiving prayer, she went home and the following day she testified about her healing!

Throughout this trip, I saw the tangible love and passion of God towards His people. I saw the brokenhearted being comforted, the captives being set free, wounds being healed, and lives being set on fire for a beautiful journey with Christ. I was completely captivated as I witnessed God Himself writing such beautiful love stories, and yet felt immensely humbled that He would use ordinary people like my team members and myself for such extraordinary agenda.

Thank you for sowing in this ministry trip. When the team felt tired from time to time, we felt your prayers pushing us through. Please keep praying for the ministry in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, for the fire to keep burning and lives that were set free to be a fountain of freedom for others. The harvest is plenty but the workers are few.
